MS Nordlys taking a dive outside Lofoten

MS Nordlys taking a dive

While going on an excursion from Svolvær to Stamsund while sailing on the Southbound MS Nordlys, we had just left Henningsvaer and had crossed the bridge to the mainland on road 816 when someone spotted MS Nordlys to the Southeast. It soon became apparent that the sea was pretty rough, and these pictures of its tough progress through the sea were taken through the bus window.

MS Nordlys at the other end of the roll cycle

This is MS Nordlys at the opposite end of the roll cycle, with the bulb nose out of the water. These pictures were taken on June 14th., not in a winter storm - this is not a seasonal occurrence. A piece of advice: If you do not handle this kind of weather well, get a cabin in the middle or further back in the ship.
