The Hurtigruteterminalen in Bergen
The Hurtigruteterminalen at Nøstegata 30 in Bergen is the departure- and arrival point for round trip cruise guests. Map link.
The entrance is on the front right, and contains the check-in desk, a waiting space, luggage boxes and the luggage conveyor belt where you get your luggage when arriving. Note the ship with its white, red and black colors showing through the gate on the bottom left of the building.
This is how things looked upon arrival at the old quay before the Hurtigruteterminalen was built and taken into use in 2005. Now you're indoor pretty much all the time, out of the rain.
This is an arrival inside Hurtigruteterminalen after the passengers have disembarked. People are looking for their luggage at the left side, the check-in desk is behind them to the left, the waiting space is at the back and the luggage boxes (3 x NOK10 coins per box) are through the opening to the right.
Hurtigruten is not only a cruiseship, but also an efficient freight transport between the Norwegian coastal towns. Most of the ships also carry cars to the different destinations, giving you added possibilities for variations on your Norway travel.
The passenger finger is the embarkation and disembarkation point for all passengers not bringing a car. When you arrive you will need to have your cruisecard scanned one last time just after leaving the finger and going into the building.
...And leaving the Hurtigruteterminal and Bergen, Northbound to new adventures on the Hurtigruten round trip! |
